Visitation will be from 1 – 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Brunk Conley officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County.
Ray was born on February 5, 1943 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the son of James A. and Maxine M. (Brown) Mason. He married Evelyn Thacker on March 28, 1980 in New Taswell, Tennessee. He retired in 1993 from Navistar after 30 years of service and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington. Ray was an avid carpenter who could build almost anything. He loved listening to music, especially Elvis. He loved his Ford truck, and his grandchildren were his world.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years – Evelyn Mason of Huntington; daughters Jamie A. Storm of Monroeville, Mary R. Hill of Huntington, and Diana L. (James) Dubeansky of Union City; a sister, Ruth Diedinger of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. His parents precede him in death.
