James O. Young, 86 of Huntington passed away at 8:30 pm on Friday May 19, 2017 at Norwood’s Health and Rehab. James worked for 46 years as a Machinist with Kellwood Manufacturing in Spencer County West Virginia. He attended 1st Nazarene Church in Huntington and was a former member of the Spencer Baptist Temple, where he served as a Deacon and choir member.
James was born on July 31, 1930 a son of Romeo and Estelle (Starcher) Young.
He was united in marriage to Betty Brickman on Dec. 5, 1958 in West Virginia. His wife preceded him in death on January 15, 2017.
Survivors include a daughter: Marti (Bruce) Evans of Huntington; and two grandsons: Brett Evans and Drew Evans of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Charles Starcher, Romeo Young Jr., John Young, Willis Young, and Robert Young; and three sisters: Dorma Ellis, Ada Marks, and Ella Craddock.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 4:00 pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Gene Vickery officiating.
Interment will be at the Beech Grove Cemetery in Huntington County.
