James Martin “Peanut” Tidwell, 73, Marion, died at 7:54 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Colonial Oaks Health Care and Rehab, Marion. He was born on December 3, 1943, in Cades, Tennessee, to the late John and Velma (Gross) Tidwell.
James was a musician and played guitar in lots of bands. He had the privilege of playing with Walt Riddle, Roy Clark, and Buck Owens to name a few.
He leaves behind one sister, Martha Sue Matute; too many nieces and nephews to list; and several friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sammy and Billy Tidwell; and sister, Norma Jean Long-Miller.
A remembrance service will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017, in the Community Room at his apartment building located at 708 N. River Dr., Marion.
