Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington with Pastor Jim Hippensteel officiating and military graveside rites performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington.
Preferred memorials are to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Cancer Services for Huntington County, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.
Jim was born on March 9, 1937 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Eldon and Velma (Voss) Woodmansee. He was a 1955 graduate of Sweetser High School and attended Purdue University; he also served in the Indiana Army National Guard. Jim married Eileen Kreider on August 4, 2006 in Huntington. He was a lifetime farmer in Richland Township of Grant County and was a member of the Laketon VFW. He loved to go fishing and liked dogs and horses.
Survivors include his wife Eileen Woodmansee of Huntington, a son, John E. (Jackie) Woodmansee of Huntington, a daughter, Jill R. (Teryl L.) Pittman of Indianapolis, a grandson, Joel Woodmansee of Kokomo, and a granddaughter, Sharaya Sommers of Greenwood. His parents and a sister, Joy Morton, precede him in death.
