James M. Hann Sr., 70, of Peru, Indiana passed away at 6:42pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Peru, Indiana on December 1, 1946 to Herbert and Kathryn Hann.  He married Debra Pike on September 22, 2007.

Jim enlisted in the Navy in March, 1966 and was honorably discharged in November, 1969.  He was stationed on the USS America and performed sea rescues.  One of his tours took him around the world.  He also worked for the N&W Railroad for 33 years.  Jim was a lifetime member of the Peru VFW and served as Quartermaster for several years.

Jim really enjoyed life and had a smile for everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Debra; daughter Dana Hann (Devon Bowen), Peru; sons James Jr., Chad and Travis Hann, Peru; step-son Joshua Pike, Peru; sisters Kris Daily, Marsh (Jim) Gilkey, Mary (Gary) Hines, Peru; brothers, Mike (Tina) Hann, Murfreesboro, TN, Bob Hann (Barb Hunt), Peru, Steve (Tina) Hann, Peru; brother-in-law Charles (Gloria) Green, Bunker Hill; sister-in-law Pam (Terry) Saylor, Denver; grandchildren Brandon Phillips, Alexandria Jones, Trenton Hann, Jada Hann, Saraya Hann, Kaylei Hann, Austin Hann, Freedom Rose Hann, and Joshua Pike.  Also, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his best bud and brother, Vern Grimes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Pat Culbertson, brothers-in-law Jim Daily and Jack Culbertson.

Visitation will be held from 4pm – 7pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10am on Thursday, March 30, 2017.  Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, with military service provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
