Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Saturday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Don Rentschler officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington County with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services for Huntington County, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Jim was born March 26, 1940 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of James L. and Iva (Wigal) Manning. He was a 1958 graduate of David Mackenzie High School in Detroit, Michigan and served in the United States Navy as Petty Officer Third Class. He married Patricia L. Broom on November 21, 1970 in Lancaster. For over 40 years, Jim was a Journeyman machinist in tool and die, retiring in 2004 from L & L Fittings in Fort Wayne. Jim was a member of VFW Post #2689 of Huntington and he loved the outdoors, especially fishing.

Survivors include his mother – Iva Manning of Chauncey, Ohio; his wife of 46 years – Patricia L. Manning of Warren; a son – David (Staci) Manning of Warren; two daughters – Jacque (Vic) Mayles of Chauncey, Ohio and Virginia Miller of Huntington; a brother – Raymond (Donna) Manning of Allen Park, Michigan; five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. His father precedes him in death.
