James Cripe

James Cripe, 70, beloved Father, Husband, and Grandpa, was called to his eternal resting place on December 28, 2017. He entered this world on September 6, 1947 in Lafayette, Indiana, born to the late George and Velma (Murr) Cripe.

James Graduated high school from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1965. After High school James joined the army. He Married his wife Sharon on January 23, 1982. He worked at Tom Wood Nissan as a service manager, retiring in 2007.

James loved to be outside, playing golf, fishing, and hanging out at the lake with his family is how he liked to spend his time. He also enjoyed playing pool.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Cripe; daughters Cheri (Andy) Pruitt and Teri Jones; sons Sean (Heidi) Cripe and Tim Jones; Grandchildren Jessica (Tyler), Derrek, Krysten, Tyler (Jayme), Tanner, Gehrig, Marley, Melissa, Ali; Great-Grandchildren Noelle, Ryder,and Kase.

He is preceded in death by his two brothers Richard and Robert Cripe and his grandson Davis Cripe.

Arrangements for James have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services Jones-Smith Chapel, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana, where a visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating James’s life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Cemetery in Upland.
