Jack Norman Howell, 88, formerly of Fairmount, IN died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.

Jack was born on January 2, 1928 in Marion, IN, son of  the late Wayne Whitson Howell and the late Georgia May Jones Howell. Jack graduated from Gas City High School and served in the Army as a mortar specialist during the Korean Conflict during 1952 and 1953. He married Martha Lou Mitchener on June 3, 1950. Martha preceded him in death on July 23, 2010. Jack was a maintenance electrician at RCA for 37 years. He was a member of Back Creek Friends and a former member of the Gas City VFW.  He enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues through RCA.  Jack also enjoyed golfing, fishing anywhere, dogs and being with his grandkids.

Jack is survived by; daughter Linda (Carl) Haynes, of Fairmount IN; son Michael (Diane) Howell; Vincennes, IN

Grandchildren: Christopher and Matthew Howell both of Panama City, FL. Lindsey (Derek) Ponton, of Vincennes ,IN,  Tifani Olson, Nashville, TN,  and Megan (John) Lane of Evansville, IN Susan (Daniel) Cole of  Lexington, KY, and Kendra Lou Bricker of Fairmount.

Great Grandchildren: Logan and Madelyne Olson, Lilyana Grundon, Clementine and Morris Lane, and Lucy Ponton.  Great-great-grandson, Sam Olson,  and Brother-in-law Jim Mitchener, Fairmount.

Jack was preceded in death by brothers; Ted William, Terry, and Philip Howell, and a sister Carol Williams.

Arrangements are currently pending.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to funeral home to assist with expenses.
