J. “Guilford” Wehr, Sr., 94, of Warren, IN, passed away at 8:20 PM on Thursday, December 08, 2016 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN. He was born on Wednesday, March 01, 1922, in Clear Creek Twp. in Huntington Co. He married Doris McIntire Wehr on Sunday, June 23, 1946 in Mt. Etna; she passed away on May 29, 2009. Guilford was a 1942 graduate of Jefferson Twp. High School in Huntington Co. He was the owner and operator of his family drainage business, which started in 1959; Wehr Farm Drainage, Inc. He was a member of the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church. He was a 50 year plus proud member of the following: Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge #333, Scottish Rite Valley-Ft. Wayne, Mizpah Shrine-Ft. Wayne, Huntington Co. Shrine, Order of Eastern Star of Indiana #65. Guilford was a past 4-H leader, past President of the Indiana land improvement contractor association, was one of the original founders of the Huntington Co. drainage board; where he served on the board for 25 years. He was also involved with the Huntington Co. Red Cross.

Sister – Louise Smith, Hawthorne, CA, Grandson – Sam (Wife, Christie) Whitton, Columbia City, IN, Step Granddaughter – Nicci (Husband, Gus) Rosen, Huntington, IN, Step Granddaughter – Tabitha (Husband, Brett) Suman, Bluffton, IN and Great Grandchildren- Macenzie Suman, Bailey Suman, Jayden Suman, Damik Vogleman, Darius Vogleman, special friend and former Daughter in Law-Debi Johnson, Warren, IN.
He was preceded in death by his: Wife – Doris (McIntire) Wehr, Father – John C. Wehr, Warren, IN, Mother – Lela (Wysong) Wehr, Daughter – Connie Guy, Daughter – Sharon Wehr, Brother – Fred Wehr, Brother – Roland Wehr, Sister – Mae Kugler, Sister – Mildred Crutchfield, Brother – Lawrence Wehr, Sister – Evelyn O’Connor, Sister – Leola Booher, Son in Law – Greg Guy and Great Grandchild – Serena Rosen.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30PM.
A service to celebrate his life will be at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, viewing will be held one hour before the service. Rev. Edwin Clark will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery in rural Huntington.
