Ivan Lee Mack, 84, of Franklin United Methodist Community and formerly of rural Jonesboro, Indiana, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.

Mr. Mack graduated in 1950 from Everett High School, Everett, Pennsylvania.  He served in the United States Navy from 1952 through 1956. In 1960 he graduated from Tri-State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Indiana Michigan Power Company (AEP) for 32 years and retired as supervisor of the substation department in Marion, Indiana.  Since 1962 he was an active member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees as well as various other committees.

Born in Armagh, Pennsylvania, September 7, 1932, Mr. Mack was the son of David Raymond and Viola Belle Mack. He married Sara Jane “Sally” George July 1, 1956.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years; his children, Priscilla Nicol of Indianapolis, Indiana; Elizabeth (John) Bean, Thomas (Kimberly) Mack all of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Peter (Kara) Bender of Chicago, Illinois; Rebecca (Brian) Bowen of Louisville, Kentucky; David Bean, Sara Bean, Erin Mack, Katherine Mack, Paul Bean, Allison Mack all of Columbus, Indiana; a brother, Guy (Ruth) Mack of Bedford, Pennsylvania; and a sister, Helen Fetter of Aberdeen, Maryland.

Mr. Mack was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Fairmount United Methodist Church, 301 S. Walnut St., Fairmount, Indiana with the Rev. Dawn Cuthbert officiating.  Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Park Cemetery in Fairmount. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Fairmount United Methodist Church, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, or Cancer Services of Grant County.
