Iva M. Herrell, 89, of Peru, Indiana went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2016.
She was born May 7, 1927 in Peru to Susie F. and Max E. Ahnert. She married Cecil E Herrell on November 16, 1946. He preceded her in death.
Iva was a homemaker and babysitter most of her life. She also worked at AGP. She loved to read , cook, sew, and do jigsaw puzzles. She especially loved to be surrounded by family, friends, and the neighborhood kids.
Iva is survived by her daughters V. Sue Chase, Peru, Deanna L. Wiese (Gary), Kokomo, and son Richard A. Herrell (Kathy), Peru. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and another on the way. Also, brother Leonard Ahnert, Peru, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Max E. Herrell, brothers Lawrence, Ray, Lewis (Bud), George Ahnert, and sister Harriet Guss. Also, grandsons John and James Wiese, and great-granddaughter Izabella Johnson.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 pm with funeral following at Allen Funeral Home, Bunker Hill, Indiana, with Pastor Mike Stow officiating. She will be buried at Ever-Rest Memorial Park (no graveside services).
