Iona F. Perkins, 101, Marion, died at 9;45 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky, to the late Sterling and Betty (Arrsmith) Buckler. Iona married Dudley D. Perkins in 1940, and he preceded her in death in 2002.
Iona was a former member of Sherburne Christian Church in Fleming County, Kentucky. She moved to Marion in 1951 and attended West 8th Street Wesleyan Church. Iona enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers, and cooking.
Survivors include her children, William G. Perkins, Marion, and Linda F. (late Tony) Dollar, Marion; grandchildren, Brian Perkins, Robin (Diana) Dollar, Lori Dollar, Nicki (Kevin) Kitts, and Michael Dollar; great-grandchildren, Christy, Will, Brad, Michael, and Nicholas; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Iona was preceded in death by her grandson, William G. Perkins, Jr.; two sisters, Ruby and Annie Mae; and son-in-law, Tony Dollar.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Services are at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
