Ida Maxine Henchon, 97, died at 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, Marion. She was born to the late Lute and Bertha (Farmer) Wright. She attended Marion Community Schools and on April 21, 1944, she married Martin E. Henchon. He died on November 8, 1998.
Ida was a homemaker. She was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of United Methodist Women. She enjoyed camping and traveling to Florida. Ida was a great family caregiver.
Ida is survived by her children, Marty (Janice) Henchon, Marion, Harry (Linda) Henchon, Marion, and Marilyn (Terry) Wittkamper, Fairmount; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, Harry and Robert; sisters, Jenny and Mary; grandson, Eric Henchon; son, William G. Henchon; and great-granddaughter, Harper Henchon.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion. The funeral service for Ida will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Vernon officiating. The burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
