Hubert “Hoot” Price Gibson

Hubert “Hoot” Price Gibson, 80, of Peru, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Monday, November 28 in Kokomo, IN.

He was born March 23, 1936 to Virginia and Carl Gibson. He was married to his sweetheart Judy Hamby who preceded him in death in 1991.

Hubert, best known to everyone as Hoot, was raised with his siblings, Mary Louise, Ruby, Monk, and Carl Jr. After graduating high school in Tennessee he joined the Air Force. During his 23 years in the Air Force he served in the Vietnam War and worked in the veterinary office for the military animals. He later retired from Dukes Memorial Hospital as a custodian.

Hoot had an infectious personality and a wonderful smile and hug to go with it. N? one was ever a stranger, especially his bowling family. Bowling and his family were two of his greatest loves.

Surviving family include Taffy Starnes and children, Adam and Roman, Russell Gibson and children, John, Judy, Hoot, Paul, and Zack, grandchildren Stephanie, Joey, and Jasper Dale, Mary (Mike) Gibson and children, Matthew and Robert, and Candy and Rick Hayes and children, Chantel and Dirk. Also surviving are 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sons Joseph and Mike.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 5:00 Pm Friday (December 2,2016) at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.  Military service will be at 5:00 PM by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
