Homer D. “HD” Layman, 80 Peru, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 12:15 AM at his residence. He was born in Jefferson, MO on October 13, 1935 the son of Edward and Blanche Lou Layman. Homer married Mary E. Vigar on June 28, 1962 and she survives. HD was a US Army Veteran and employed as a mechanic at Denny Motors in Wabash for over 30 years before his retirement in 1997. Surviving in addition to his wife Mary, are sons Doug Roberts and his wife Barbara and Hershel Layman and his wife Jamie, daughters Elizabeth Layman, Shelley Bullins and her husband Mike and Penny Wohlford and her husband Kevin, a brother Paul Layman and his wife Onnie and grandchildren Candy, Paul, Amy, Mike, Cassie, Aaron, Casey, Danielle, Ashley, Josh, Jessica and Sindi, Stepheny, Heather, William, Allen, Bernard, Rachel, Nisa and Steven Jr. Also surviving are 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steven Roberts, a great grandson, a sister and ten brothers. Services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:30 .AM in the Ever Rest Memorial Park Chapel, 8315 E. Logansport Road, Logansport, IN with Pastor Joel Clark officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. Visitation will be from 10:30AM until the time of service Monday at Ever Rest Memorial Park.
