Henry Eugene “Gene” Hileman

In loving memory of Henry Eugene “Gene” Hileman, 88 Peru went to be with the Lord at 9:05am on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Peru.

He was born on December 16, 1927 in Miami County to Floyd and Sadie (Henry) Hileman. Henry married his wife Annabelle Hahn in 1949. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2009.

Henry graduated from Butler Township High School. He then served in the US Army.

Henry worked at Ford Garage as service manager for many years. He worked at Laidlaw for a short time and then REMC. In December 1962, he moved his family to the farm southeast of Denver, IN.

Henry began his farming days which was the joy of his life. He also drove bus for North Miami High School.

After retiring, he and Annabelle moved to Peru.

Surviving is a son Randy (Fran) Hileman, daughter Janet (Eddie) Rose, grandchildren Shelly (Phil) Sparks, Amy (Richie) Eldridge, Jeff Rose, Jeromy (Kaysey) Hileman, Amber (Bob) Spicer. Also, surviving are 17 great grandchildren: JD, Dalton, Zoey, Chloe, Jeffery, Manna, Erika, Emma, Gavin, Ella, Auston, Owen, Elsee, Lilly and Stormy.

Also surviving are 5 brothers: Darrel, Roland, Alan, David; and 2 sisters, Betty Gail and Judy.

Friends and family may call from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 15, 2016 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel, with Pastor Julie Walker officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made through the funeral home to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and/or Mad Anthony’s Children’s Hope House.
