Henry “Dee” Brown, age 84, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday February 17, 2016 at Defiance Area Hospice.  He was a 1954 graduate of Defiance High School, and served in the Army in Korea.  He was a millwright at General Motors for 35 years.  He was a member of UAW Local #211, Amvets, Sherwood VFW, Defiance Moose, played football for Army and played and coached the Defiance Old-timers football.  He volunteered with the Camp Perry Rifle Association, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Dee was born March 10, 1931, in Bronson, Michigan, the son of Lester and Elizabeth “Elsie” (Ruber) Brown.  On May 20, 1976 he married his beloved wife of 39 years Shirley (Moon) and she survives.  Also surviving are children Ed (Deb) Brown of Defiance, Paul Brown of Columbus, Linda Ballew of South Portland, Maine, Leah (Jeff) Charette of Deluth, Georgia, Angie (Paul) Kaegi of Toledo, Polly Sholl of Warren, Indiana, and Barney (Chris) Brown of Edgerton, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a sister Sheila Limbaugh.  He was preceded in death by a brother Bill Brown and a sister Ann Metcalf.

Visitation will be held Sunday February 21 from 2-5 pm at Defiance UAW Memorial Hall.  Burial will be Monday February 22 at 10:00 am at Poplar Ridge Cemetery, Defiance.
