Henry Arthur Phelps, 78, Marion, died in his home at 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky, on June 27, 1939, to the late Arthur and Lois (Meece) Phelps. On October 1, 1988, Henry married Carolyn Kent, and she survives.
Henry was a U.S. Army veteran and was a truck driver for many companies throughout his career. He wasn’t very much of a social or people person and he kept to himself. There was no doubt, though, that Henry had a deep love for his family, and his memory will be forever cherished in their hearts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Carolyn; children, Michael Phelps, Tammy May, London, Kentucky, Richard Smith, London, Kentucky, April Phelps, London, Kentucky, and Jennifer (Ryan) Knepper, Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Vicki (Vern) Harrison, Monet, Missouri; step-son, Charles Callahan, Grady, Arkansas; grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Chase, and Emily May, Tyler Phelps, and Scarlett Knepper; great-grandson, Branson May; 7 step-grandchildren; brother, Don Phelps, Owensboro, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Victor Kent, Marion; and sisters-in-law, Rose (Tom) Yonts, Marion, Lucy (Don) Sinders, Clay City, and Retha Kent, Upland.
Also preceding him in death was a brother, David Michael Phelps, and sister, Brenda Sue Ramey.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services for Henry.
