Helen Louise Shane, 89, of Anderson, Indiana and formerly of Fairmount died Friday, March 10, 2017 at Community Hospital of Anderson.
Helen was born in Marion Indiana on September 7, 1927, daughter of Basil Galbreath and Carrie (Trowbridge) Galbreath. She was a 1946 graduate of Swayzee High School and worked as a supervisor of credit and collections at Community Hospital East of Indianapolis. Helen was married to Joe Shane who preceded her in death on August 19, 2003. She attended Idlewild Baptist Church of Tampa, Florida. Helen loved cats and watching Hallmark movies.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky (Robert) Johnson of Anderson, step-grandaughter, Jenny Greiner of Kennasaw, GA and special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, along with her cat “Sissy”.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Galbreath.
Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana handled arrangements. Helen’s body will be cremated and entombment will take place at a later date.
