Helen L. Shively, 88, Jonesboro, died at 12:49 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Colonial Oaks. She was born in Gas City, Indiana to the late Jesse and Frances (Fuller) Horner. She married James “Jim” Warren Shively on January 11, 1946, and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2015.

Helen was a graduate of Gas City High School. She was a homemaker and previously worked as a secretary for Slick Glass Co. Helen enjoyed crocheting, baking, fishing, and taking rides through the country. She was always ready to babysit her grandchildren and spent much of her time reading her bible and praying for her family. She attended Church of God of Prophecy in Gas City. Helen will be remembered as a loving mamaw.

Survivors include her children, Michael L. (Alice) Shively, Marion, Jon P. (Elaine) Shively, Noblesville, Debra K. (Mike) Catanese, Gas City, and Larry J. Shively, Marion; grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Scott, Tuesday (Jeff) Liddick, Shana (Greg) Schmidt, Jeff Nelson, Jessica Lynn Shively, and Jamie Lynn Shively; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, David Horner.

In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Louetta Derosett, and brother, Jesse Jr. Horner.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
