Harold E. Reeves

Harold E. Reeves, age 97, of Huntington, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Thursday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Father John Robinette officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to Wounded Warrior Fund, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Harold was born April 8, 1920 in Huntington, the son of John and Lydia (Anders) Reeves. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1938 and served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He married Julia E. Marks on November 12, 1939 in Huntington; she preceded him in death on March 3, 2010. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Yoder and American Legion Post #7 in Huntington. He enjoyed being part of the Ham Radio Club of Huntington, using the call sign “KA9win.”

Survivors include a brother, Paul Dolby Jr. of Huntington; four granddaughters, Yvonne Treft of Huntington, and Brooke Reeves, Paige Kagin, and Stacy Reeves, all of Fort Wayne; a grandson, Darryl Treft of Huntington; a daughter-in-law – Ellen Reeves of Huntington; three great grandsons, and four great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, John H. Reeves, a daughter, Sue Ann Treft, a sister, Mary Herndon, and a brother, Carl Dolby.
