Golda G. Harrison, 98, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 2:18 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, in Marion General Hospital. She was born in Wabash on February 6, 1919, to the late Monte and Mary (Hetzner) Draper. Golda married Melvin Harrison on February 4, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1963.
Golda worked for over 30 years at General Tire in Wabash. She enjoyed playing BINGO and visiting the casino. She also liked taking drives with her son, Ed, on Saturday mornings.
She will be missed by her son, Ed (Linda) Harrison, Marion; six grandchildren, Rick (Marsha) Harrison, Robin Gleason, Brenda Harrison, Brad Harrison, Brian (Patricia) Harrison, and Brent (Heidi) Harrison; two step-grandchildren, Mike (Jaime) Coolman and Kim Coolman; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Harrison; daughter, Judy Potter; step-grandson, Jan Coolman, Jr.; and sisters, Lucille Harrison, Maxine Parrott, and Thelma Shoemaker.
The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Services to celebrate Golda’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at the funeral home with Ted Batson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
