Ginnie (Clune) Dodson, age 67, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born on March 18, 1949 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Art and Virginia “Tippy” (Wolcott) Clune.

Before moving to Indiana Ginnie was the proverbial tomboy. Summer Sundays spent on the farm for Sunday dinners with her sister and eleven cousins. The kids explored, rode horses, and played softball. But Ginnie’s most talked about times (at the age of 8) were “hunting elephants” with her cousin-buddy Dick. After her families moved to Indiana, Ginnie left her tomboy ways behind. However every year in the summer they returned to that Grand Ole Farm. Her high school years at Mississinewa were full of friendships and fun. Cruising “Custers”, dances at the “Y”, and trips to Tippy Gardens where the dancing continued. Dancing was one of the many joys in her life. Ginnie danced her last dance with Shane, her son, on June 18, 2016. How happy that dance made her.

Reality of adult life introduced Ginnie to GenCorp (General Tire). After several jobs within the company Ginnie became HR Director. It was at Gencorp that Ginnie met her husband, Ed. They celebrated 38 years of marriage on May 12, 2016. They grew in that marriage until you rarely saw one without the other.

She was a member of the North Webster American Legion and was a very proud Irish fan.

Ginnie’s deep love for her two boys was evident in all she said and did. A mother who loved passionately and unconditionally, deeply devoted to her family. The inherent gift of mothering given to Ginnie blessed many far beyond her children…many called her “mama”, “second-mom”, and “mama #2”. She had a deep willingness to protect and nurture all those she came in contact with.

Ginnie loved her grandchildren in that same way. She was their biggest cheerleader, the “loudest one in the stands”, and the “text message” that let them know she loved them and was always proud of them. She delighted in every detail of their lives.

Ginnie showed “style and class” in all that she did. The outer beauty of her presence was always “spot on” while her inner beauty could captivate a room. Her tears could flow as easily as her laughter. When Ginnie wasn’t at home you’d find her and Ed at the lakes. They enjoyed much of their time together there with family and friends; enjoying “blue skies and endless fun.”

Ginnie’s tender heart, deep way of thinking, and love of her Savior allow us to rejoice in the future. A strong, confident, and beautiful; wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Keep dancing with the angels “mama”. We ALL love you.

In lieu of flowers: Take time to hold those you love, dance when no one’s watching, spread JOY, show LOVE, smile even when it’s hard, and share Jesus… for all of these things exude Ginnie.

Ginnie is survived by her husband, Ed Dodson of Marion; two sons, Shane (Jennifer) Moore of Marion and Brad (Laura) Dodson of Sweetser; sister, Kay (Clune) Carroll of Fairmount; mother-in-law, Chris Dodson of Marion; four grandchildren, Carson, Ireland and Ryder Dodson and Trinity Moore; a nephew, Mitch (Sherry) Carroll of Gas City; 22 cousins; dear friends, Sandy Teets and Phyllis Cochran, both of Indianapolis; and her dog, Harley.

She was also preceded in death by a cousin, Fred Houghton.
