Gary L. Teegarden, 66, of Fishers, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 in his home.

A former resident of the Gas City and Jonesboro area, Gary was the son of Homer and the late Bette J. (Eck) Teegarden, born Feb. 1, 1951, in Marion. He was a graduate of Mississinewa High School, the class of 1969. After graduation, he went the US Marine Corp for a short time. Even though he lived away, he considered First United Methodist Church, Gas City, his home church.

Gary was an active part of the community when living in Grant County and was a volunteer on the Gas City Fire Department for nearly 20 years and also on the Jonesboro Fire Department prior to going on the Gas City Department. He enjoyed the old Methodist hymns and old time Rock and Roll music. He enjoyed working outside, mowing the yard, softball, and the History Channel.

Gary’s pride and joy were his children and grandchildren; they are what made him shine.

Gary married Carol J. Schroeder Jan. 27, 1973, and she survives.

Also surviving are his father Homer and wife Judy Teegarden of Jonesboro; his daughters; Becky (Seth) Runyan of McCordsville, and Leslie (Jake) Grubb, Marion; Grandchildren; Kennedy (Jeremy) McNeal, Bury St. Edmunds, England, Maloree and Davis Linn, of Marion, Callie and Charlie Runyan; One Great Granddaughter; Braylee McNeal, McCordsville; Brother; David (Carol) Teegarden, Hemet, Callifornia; Step-sister; Jina Birky, Jonesboro; Step-brothers; Kip Flynn, Gas City, and Scott Flynn, California; and Parents-in-law; Bob and B.J.
