Gary L. Brinneman

Gary L. Brinneman, age 82, of Andrews, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Kellie Herber officiating and military rites performed by VFW Post #2689. Burial will be in Andrews Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to Salvation Army of Huntington or Vistiting Nurse and Hospice Home, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana 46750.

Gary was born on November 9, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Leroy and Nellie (Clark) Brinneman. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1953 and married Linda L. Close on August 24, 1956 in Huntington. Gary served in the United States Army. He retired in 1994 from Fisher Body, a division of General Motors in Marion, after 37 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge #333 F&AM. He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting wood, gardening, mushroom hunting, and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters – Lori L. (Scott) Dreamer of Bristol and Kimberly L. (Thomas) Wingo of Huntington; a son – Steven L. Brinneman of Anderson; ten grandchildren – Jennifer Purviance, Amanda Ochoa, Melody Powell, Adam Brinneman, Taylor Purviance, Brook Brinneman, Celsey Brinneman, Chad Wingo, Austin Dreamer, and Alexx Dreamer; and seven great grandchildren – Dylan, Isaiah, Emmy, Aleah, Wyatt, Faith, and Elle. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Linda, and a brother, Robert Brinneman.
