Gary James Kraning, 74, Peru, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne.
Born May 3, 1942, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Earl L. and Gail D. Wilson Kraning. He was married on July 22, 1962, to Sandra Sager, and she survives.
Gary attended Jefferson Township High School before going to work at Foreman Foundry. He then went to work for Peru Utilities from where he retired after thirty years. He loved to watch westerns on TV and go for Sunday afternoon drives in his car.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Ken Kraning, Peru; one grandson, Jordon Kraning, Peru; one sister, Linda Maze, Peru; and his beloved feline companion, Maya.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tony Kraning, and one brother-in-law, Jim Gosnell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana with Pastor George Dinkel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
