Gary J. Freiburger, 64, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 7:03 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Autumn Ridge Rehab Center in Wabash.

Born in Fort Wayne to the late William and Ruth (Hamm) Freiburger, the family moved to the Grant County area, where Gary graduated from Marion High School in 1971 and was a resident for 49 years. It was on June 2, 1982, that Gary married Bevelyn “Sue” Grim, and she survives. Gary was a line worker at Hankins Container, and he enjoyed collecting silver, studying his Bible, and watching the Indianapolis Colts.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; children, Jared (Sheene) Freiburger, Marion, Sylisa (Jason) Hoffman, Toledo, Ohio, Gary Freiburger II, Marion, and Heidi (Dallas) Jones, Fairmount; 6 grandchildren, Gracie, Gary III, Jasper, Jack, Braydon, and Michaela; and sisters, Sheila Eubank and Valerie (Tim) Garner.

His step-father, Charles Sims, preceded him in death in addition to his parents.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
