Frederick “Fred” T. Mauller

Frederick “Fred” T. Mauller, 70, Gas City, died in Marion General Hospital at 4:55 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born in Marion on May 19, 1947, to the late Charles and Betty (Rook) Mauller. He married the love of his life, Sharon LeMaster, on June 14, 1974, and she survives.

Fred worked at General Cable (formerly Anaconda) for 44 years until he retired in 2009. He loved to golf with his co-workers and his son, Ryan. He grew to love the game of pool with his dad and passed that passion on to his boys. He also loved to spend the day or night on the river bank or pond. On the warm, summer nights you would find him making his rounds on his golf cart enjoying life. Fred will also be remembered for how much he loved to read to his grandkids “The Monster at the End of This Book”, as they laughed away at his outlandish rendition.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, Gas City; sons, Brent (Kristie) Mauller, Jonesboro, and Ryan (Laura) Mauller, Gas City; grandchildren, Hailey, Austin, Myles, Ryne, Shawn, Zachary, and Zoie; and brother, William Mauller, Jonesboro.

Preceding him in death were his parents, as well as his sister, Pam Campbell.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Fred’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Pastor Brian Mauller will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
