Fred A. Richardson, 79, of Jackson Twp, Wells County, IN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2016 peacefully at his home after his extended battle with cancer.  He was born the oldest of 8 children on Friday, December 18, 1936, in Tazewell, TN to James T. & Ina (Mullins) Richardson.  He married Renee’ (Lowry) Richardson on Saturday, June 28, 1969 with his three children; Fred Jr., Rebecca and Richard Lee. Fred was a 1954 graduate of Francesville High School in Francesville, IN. After high school he joined the United States Navy, where he served from 1954-1957. He then attended Valparaiso Technical Institute and graduated with a degree in electronics in 1960. He formerly worked at Arvin Industries and attended Purdue University for a short time. He worked for 30 years at GTE in Ft. Wayne before retiring in 1990. Fred lived and farmed in Wells County for 41 years. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking in his free time and was a member of the Warren Church of Christ, where he served as an elder. Fred was adored by his family and was someone who many people looked up to.

 

Loving survivors include: Wife – Renee’ (Lowry) Richardson, rural Montpelier, IN, Son – Fred (Sandy) Richardson, Jr., Hartford City, IN, Daughter – Rebecca (Doug) Lithgow, Huntington, IN, Son -Richard Lee Richardson, Ft. Wayne, IN, Daughter – Rachel (Bruce) Schuller, Warren, IN, Son – Roger (Liz) Richardson, Poneto, IN, 12 Grandchildren – 12, 14 Great Grandchildren and 6 siblings .

 

He was preceded in death by his: Father – James T. Richardson, Mother – Ina (Mullins) Richardson and Brother – George Richardson.

 

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Warren Church of Christ 302 North Wayne Street Warren on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

 

A service to celebrate Fred’s life will be at Warren Church of Christ at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 30, 2016 with Pastor Ethan Stivers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Roseland Cemetery in Francesville, IN.
