Florence L. “Betty” Christ, 96, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 11:40 am, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Blair Ridge Health Care Center in Peru, Indiana. She was born November 15, 1919 in Pennsylvania to Peter and Louise Watkinson.
Betty married Paul Christ on January 15, 1947; he died January 28, 2002. She was a homemaker and a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church. Betty was also a member of the Ivy Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in North Manchester. She enjoyed playing euchre, knitting, crocheting, gardening, canning, and reading. She and her husband wintered in Punta Gorda, Florida 23 years. She formerly lived at 205 E. 6th Street in North Manchester, and the past six months at Blair Ridge in Peru.
She is survived by her son, Randy (Mitzi) Christ of Peru, granddaughter, Christina (Todd) Musselman and two great-grandchildren, Nathan Musselman and Ellie Musselman, all of Denver, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Paul Dennis Christ, daughter, Carol Christ, two brothers, six sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester, with Rev. Larry Ray officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Saturday, at the funeral home.
