Ferris “FOD” L. Small 86 of LaFontaine passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2016. He graduated from Roseburg high school in Marion. Ferris was a hardworking man who spent his life as a dairy farmer and hauling milk as a truck driver. He was a member of Banquo Church.
Ferris was born on August 30, 1929 a son of Luther H. and Dorothy (Cook) Small.
He was united in marriage to Mary June Dice on Jan 7, 2002. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter: Patlyn (Ken) Tieman of Roanoke; four sons: Perry ( Beverly) Small of Lafontaine, Roger (Deborah) Small of Warren, Russell Small of Wabash and Kyle (Dawn) Small of Lafontaine; two step daughters : Joyce (Jim) Bell of Lafontaine, and Janis Dice of Ft. Wayne; a step son: Joseph Dice of Lafontaine; three brothers: Randall Small of Florida, Durward Small of Connersville, and Rowland Small of Kokomo; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Ferris was preceded in death by a first wife Bonnie (Camper) Small; a son: Daniel Small; a daughter Rhonda Smith; two brothers: Keith Small, and Francis Small; and a sister Patti Shiffer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 25, 2016 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel located at 2901 Guilford Street Huntington, IN 46750
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday February 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. With Pastor Harold Smith Officiating
Interment will take place at the Mt. Etna Cemetery
