Eva Jean (Cassell) Peacock

Eva Jean (Cassell) Peacock, 91, Fairmount, Indiana died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Colonial Oaks Health Care.

Eva Jean was born in Marion, Indiana on April 28, 1926, daughter of the late Henry Benton Cassell and Ruby F. Harrold Cassell. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1944. Eva Jean retired from Belle Fibre in 1989 where she had been secretary for 42 years and was a former member of the Professional Secretaries International. She was a long time member and volunteer at the Fairmount Museum and was also a member of the Fairmount Friends Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting. She married John Charles Peacock in June 10, 1995. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2005.

Eva Jean is survived by her sister, Lois Painter, Fairmount, IN, nieces; Jan (Jeff) Magner, Indianapolis, IN, Kandi Augur, Westerville, OH, great-nieces and nephew; Meredith (David) Bowes, Andrew (Mishita)  Magner, Kasey (Christian) Langwasser & Lauren Augur,3 great-great nieces and 2 great-great nephews.   Step-children; Robert (Jane) Peacock, Fairmount, IN and Judy Smith, Kissimee, Fl , Jay Hunt, Ft. Wayne, IN, Wilson (Patty) Hunt, Kendalville, IN and Jayne (John) Sicks, Amhurst, MA, grandchildren; Todd (Traci) Peacock, Terri (Todd) Stroup, Aaron Lavanchy, Ft. Wayne, IN, Phil (Elaine) Lavanchy, Muncie, IN, Emily, Julia, and David Lavanchy, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her, parents, husband, and brother-in-law, Charles L. “Chick” Painter, and nephew, Jim Augur.

Arrangements are being handled by the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 2-5 PM and from 10-11 AM prior to the service on Monday.   Funeral Service will be Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11 AM with Pastor Brock Meyer officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairmount Friends Stained Glass Window Fund in care of the funeral home.
