Eunice Evelyn Childers, 91, Warren, died at 8:55 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Heritage Pointe, Warren. She was born in Elwood, IN, to the late John H. and Fannie A. (Spear) Weddell. She married James Childers on April 8, 1944, and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2011.
Eunice retired from American Security, where she worked as a clerical assistant. She was a member of 1st Christian Church in Marion and participated with Disciples Women. Eunice also volunteered at Marion General Hospital.
Eunice is survived by her son, Lyn E. (Cheryl) Childers, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her son, James Kent Childers, and siblings, Lucian Weddell, Bert Weddell, and Mildred Casto.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Kate Penney officiating. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Frankton.
