Esther Irene Line, 86, formerly of rural Chili, Indiana, died at 7:53 pm, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in La Fontaine. She was born March 27, 1930 in Wabash County, IN to Forest Raymond and Elvah Rowena (Kelly) Long.
She was a 1948 graduate of Chili High School. On November 1, 1950, she married Homer E. Line Jr., at his parent’s home in Chili; he died March 1, 2013. She worked at the Peru Trust Bank in Denver, Indiana and was also a farmer’s wife. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, and mowing and caring for her lawn.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Cindy (Mike) Williams of Wabash, Karen (Darrin) Clark of Tampa, Florida, James (Cathy) Decker of Reno, Nevada, Terry (Valerie) Decker of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Mike (Anna Marie) Dowen of Orange, Virginia, Liz Iverson of Sarasota, Florida, Lisa Jackson of Matthew, North Carolina, David Long of Peru, Raymond Long of Rosco, Illinois, Laura (Mike) Musall of Fishers, Indiana, Carol (Gary) Paradise of Roswell, Georgia, Marcie (Bud) Thurston of Peru, and Schawnn Decker of Grand Forks. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, three brothers, and her nephew Alan Decker.
Funeral services will be 2pm Monday, January 30, 2017 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa Road, Roann. Burial will be in Chili Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30-2pm Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Chili Cemetery.
