Emily L. (Reitmeyer) Catt, 95 of Huntington passed away at 2:58am on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Norwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. Emily was a 1938 graduate of Decker High School in Decker, Indiana. She was self-employed in house cleaning for several years. She was a homemaker and loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Emily was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Emily was born on June 14, 1920 in Vincennes, Indiana. She was the daughter of Ernest H. and Lydia K. (Schultz) Reitmeyer.
She was united in marriage to William D. “Duck” Catt on May 26, 1941 in Franklin, KY. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters: Linda (James) Guhl of Huntington; Carol (Mark) Stouder of Huntington; six grandchildren: Wendy Stouder of Bremerton, WA; Hallie (Doug) Selig of Huntington; Kerri (Aaron) Garner of Fort Wayne; Amy (Kevin) Hensler of Fort Wayne; Tracy (Paul) Adkins of Huntington; Tim (Lisa) Guhl of Fort Wayne; a brother-in-law: Bob Coppock of Vincennes, IN; sister-in-law: Margaret Catt of Vincennes, IN; eleven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Elmer Reitmeyer and two sisters: Betty Beaman and Naomi (Fleck) Coppock.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with her nephew Hersey Mangels officiating.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
