Edna Ellen Richardson would like you to know that her work here is done; she received an offer she couldn’t refuse for an appointment from which she will not be returning. She will be attending a reunion of family and friends that she hasn’t seen in a while. Edna Ellen  was called by Heaven to be an angel; she passed  knowing many loved her and she was in God’s hands and went home to be with the Lord , February 7, 2017. She  will be celebrating her birthday in heaven. Mom leaves us with a favorite verse:

2nd Timothy 4:7-8 – I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith:. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Remembering her life, Edna Ellen often remarked she had lived during the most notable period in history because she had walked to school in her childhood and played baseball with neighborhood kids in an empty sandlot; which has long since been developed into a housing district, lived through the great depression, had seen the effects of World War II and saw pictures of men walking on the moon. She also experienced the frustration of the electronic age of computers.

Edna had a group of women who had gone to school together, having started at Victory School in 1926. They remained friends and met regularly for luncheons mostly at the Siding Restaurant.  The last group of four were: Marjorie Ash, Rowena Kunkle, Eileen Sullivan, and herself.

Edna Ellen was an amazing mother who gave up much to give to her kids.  She was living at home and caring for herself up until a short time ago when she took ill.   Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through this time.  She leaves an unwavering legacy of love to each of us.
