Eddie D. McCown, age 70, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017, at 7:01 pm at Millers Merry Manor. He worked at Essex and retired from Dana in 2007. He enjoyed camping, making candy for Christmas, playing with his grandchildren and working in the yard.
Eddie was born June 11, 1947, in Melvin, KY, the son of Forrest and Mabel (Tackett) McCown. On February 10, 1972, he married his beloved wife of 45 years Julie A. Baumgardner in Huntington and she survives in Huntington. Also surviving are a son Forrest McCown of Huntington, a daughter Nicole McCown of Huntington, 5 grandchildren Preston L Mccown, Celeste M. McCown, Owen A.D. McCown, Landan J. McCown and Tristan M. Saye, and 2 sisters Sharon L. Price and Emma l. Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Jackie Page and Elisabeth A. McCown.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
