Earle F. Miller, Jr., 97, Marion, died at 11:29 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. He was born in Pleasant Township to the late Earl F. Miller, Sr., and Esther B. (Pennington) Miller. Earle married Carmen L. (Wimmer) Miller on February 25, 1940, and she preceded him in death on October 13, 1993. He then married Lorene (Reisdorph) Burns on March 14, 1997, and she survives.

Earle was a graduate of Marion High School and Marion Business College. He was a life-time member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church where he served on the board and taught Sunday school for 40 years. He was a member of Pleasant-Center Farm Club. Earle served on the Board of Directors of the Farmers State Bank for 20 years. He also served 12 years on the Oak Hill School Board. He farmed and operated Miller Grain from 1968 to 1974.

In addition to his wife, Earle is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Garry) Newhouse, Marion; a sister, Dolores (Keith) Cranor, Marion; one grandson, Danny (Robin) Newhouse; one granddaughter, Michelle (Brian) Nichols; five great-grandchildren, Lorrie Newhouse, Bradey Newhouse, Erika Newhouse, Katelyn Nichols and Adam Nichols. Also surviving are four step-children, David (Kerry) Cheesman, Kokomo, Debbie (Lloyd) Showalter, Troy, Ohio, Darla (Chris) Mitchner, Brownsburg, and Dawn (Dwight) Robertson, Denver, Colorado; 14 step-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 2015 N. 300 W., Marion, IN.

A funeral service for Earle will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the church with Pastor Rob Barton officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Mt. Olive Church Building Fund, 2015 N. 300 W., Marion, IN 46952.
