Dorothy Leota Beaty, 85 of Huntington passed away at 2:06 am on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center. Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of East Union High School. She worked as a custodian at Markle Bank for 12 years. Dorothy enjoyed flowers and all animals and just loved being outdoors.
Dorothy was born on February 15, 1932 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Albert W. and Bernice V. (Heath) Smith.
She was united in marriage to James R. Beaty on November 27, 1955 at the Uniontown Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1984.
Survivors include a son: Lynn J. (Teresia) Beaty of Huntington, two granddaughters and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers: Clarence, Albert and Charles Smith and a granddaughter: Kristi Renee Beaty.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 3:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Rick Smalling officiating.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
