Dorothy J. Knepshield, 94, Sweetser, died at 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, LaFontaine. She was born in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, to the late Kenneth and Orpha (Ames) Prugh. Dorothy worked as an RN for the VA in Marion.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Knepshield, Sweetser; grandchildren, Melissa (Chip) Cly, Jean Knepshield, Robert Simison, Sue Simison, Mike Simison, and Joann Simison; and great-grandchildren, Megan Cly and Mason Knepshield.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Simison.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church of Avonmore, 518 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, PA. An additional visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery, Avonmore.
