Dorothy Grace Stamper, age 92, of Huntington, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to Huntington County Council on Aging or Huntington County Humane Society, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Dorothy was born on July 12, 1925 in Huntington, the daughter of Ervin and Elizabeth (Stemmerding) Cruea. She graduated from Roanoke High School in 1943 and married Robert Dale Stamper on April 6, 1947 in Delphi, Indiana; he preceded her in death on January 8, 2012. Dorothy attended First Congregational Christian Church in Huntington. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors, playing games, camping, traveling, and wintering in Florida. She dearly loved her family.

Survivors include two sons – William “Bill” (Cyndi Bishop) Stamper of Webster, Massachusetts and James “Jim” D. (Kathryn) Stamper of Fort Wayne; a daughter – Karla A. Funk of Huntington; a granddaughter – Christina J. (Simon) Munnik of Durban, South Africa, and a grandson – Adam (Amanda) Seeger of Fort Wayne. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Floretta Irene Coe and Alberta Jiosa.
