Doris M. Green, age 85, of Huntington, passed away Sunday February 14, 2016 at 10:50 pm at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. She worked at Sealtest, Memcor, and Triad-Utrad and was a member of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, enjoyed going to garage sales and Goodwill, and working crossword puzzles.
Doris was born March 24, 1930, in Huntington, the daughter of Jacob C. and Edith E. (Johnson) Spath. She married Vernie Bruner in Huntington and he passed away November 1960. She then married Roger Green in Clinton, Virginia and he passed away January 25, 2010. She is survived by 2 daughters Saundra Bruner and Pam Ludwig both of Huntington, 3 sons Jim Bruner of Lafontaine, Bill (Cindy) Bruner of Umitilla, Florida, and Bruce (Lori) Bruner of Huntington, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a brother Bill “Junior” Spath of Arizona. She was preceded in death by a son Gary Bruner, a granddaughter Misty Bruner, 2 great-grandchildren Julianna Myers and Alicia Bruner, 4 brothers Edward, Earl, Russell, & Robert Spath and 3 sisters Isabelle Taylor, Mary Holmes, and Florence Jeannette Spath.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 18 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the 10:30 am Friday February 19 funeral service at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel with Pastor Bobby Kemp of First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
