Doris L. McFadden, 101 of Warren passed away at 6:50 am on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Heritage Pointe of Warren. Doris was a 1934 graduate of West Rock Creek High school. She had lived most of her life on a farm in Rock Creek Township. She was a member of the Plum Tree United Church of Christ. She served as President of the Huntington County Homemaker’s Club and served as President of the State Homemaker’s Association. She was a charter member of the Happy Harmony Extension Club.
Doris was born on June 1, 1916 in Rock Creek Township, the daughter of Jesse and Lillian (Farrar) Sparks.
She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Meredith H. (Hank) McFadden on September 3, 1936 in Ansonia, Ohio. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters: Verla Jane Park of Warren; Michelle Stockman of Markle: four grandchildren: Steven (Kim) Park, Kevin (Linda) Park, Michael (Jia) Stockman, Brian Stockman: four great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Jesse and Lillian Sparks.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
A private family graveside will take place at the Star of Hope Cemetery.
