Doris June Troyer, 83, of Peru, passed away at 11:25 P.M., Monday, July 17, 2017 at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru. She was born in Howard County, IN on August 14, 1933, the daughter of Irvin and Emma Heldt Spangler. June married John M. Troyer at the Kokomo Zion EUB Church on August 23, 1953 and he survives. June was a 1951 graduate of Eastern High School, a member of the Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church and the Gideons Aux. She was a homemaker and farmed alongside her husband, John, until their retirement 2002. An avid gardener, June enjoyed growing flowers around her home. A woman of great faith and integrity, who modeled hard work and determination, she was an inspiration to her family. Surviving in addition to her husband of 64 years, John, are daughters Kathryn Stanley and her husband Larry of Warsaw and Jayne Boltz and her husband Scott of Greentown, a son, Brian Troyer and his wife Valerie of Peru, grandchildren Jason (Celeste) Stanley, Joe (Brooke) Stanley, Rebecca (Brent) Hite, Laura (Kevin) Stage, Nathan (Kayla) Boltz, Rachel Troyer and Jonas Troyer, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Norma Lamb of Kokomo and a brother Charles (Norma Jean) Spangler of Kokomo. She was preceded in death by her parents, , a brother Eugene Spangler, sisters Mary Kendall and Ruth Moore and a granddaughter Angela Stanley. A service celebrating the life of Doris June Troyer will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Kokomo Zion UMC, 5051 E. 400 N., Kokomo, IN with Pastor Jeanne Winter officiating. Burial will be in the Kokomo Zion Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday at the Kokomo Zion UMC and one hour prior to the service, Saturday, at the church on Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, Peru.
