Doris Irene Cripe, 90, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 1:05 pm, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. She was born January 11, 1926 in Minot, North Dakota to Orville and Bessie (Wray) Moore.

Doris married Daniel A. Cripe in Wabash County, Indiana on November 25, 1943; he died May 2, 1984. She was a farmer’s wife, a homemaker, and a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in North Manchester.

She is survived by six children, Marilyn (Keith) Skiles, Donna Long, Dennis (Judy) Cripe, Larry (Diane) Cripe, and Nancy (Linda Troop) Cripe, all of North Manchester, and Sharlene (Dale) Flora of Ronan, Montana, 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, sister and brothers, Leona Smith of Warsaw, Indiana, Arlyn (Barbara) Moore of Salem, Oregon, and Larry (Kay) Moore of Palatka, Florida, and two sisters-in-law Shirley Moore of Kings Park, New York, and Blanche Moore, of Modesto, California. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ellery, Virgil, and Charles Moore, her sister, Flora Hunsley, and her grandson-in-law Randy Lewis.

Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be in the Old German Baptist Brethren Church Cemetery, North Manchester. Friends may call 2-5 pm and 6-8 pm Wednesday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main Street, North Manchester.
