Doris F. Stephenson, 67, North Manchester, IN died November 2, 2016 at 7:51 p.m. at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born May 17, 1949 in Wabash, IN to Chauncey & Mary Florence (Smith) Airgood. On March 17, 1979 she married David L. Stephenson.  She graduated from Wabash High School in 1967. She then graduated from Manchester College in 1971 receiving a B.A. Degree in History.  She graduated from Ball State University in 1976 where she received a Master’s Degree in Library Science and in 1992 she also received a Master’s Degree in Communications from Ball State.  She worked as a librarian at Manchester University for 38 years retiring in 2014. Her hobbies were reading, knitting, scuba diving, flower gardening and baking.  She traveled extensively in the Western United States and also to tropical islands.  Her favorite place was the U.P. in Michigan. She was past President of the American Library Association.  She was generous, giving and grateful. She was a member of North Manchester United Methodist Church, North Manchester, IN.  She is survived by her husband, David L. Stephenson, North Manchester, IN; son, Scott Andrew Stephenson, Elkhart, IN; brother, Dennis (Diane) Airgood, Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Donna (Jake) Friedersdorf, Wabash, IN; 5 nieces, 8 great nieces & nephews and 4 great great nieces & nephew.  Family and friends may call Monday, November 7, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN and one hour prior to service on Tuesday.  Memorial Service will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. 2nd Street, North Manchester, IN.  Pastor Mark Eastway and Rev. Steve Ellis will officiate.  For those who wish to honor the memory of Doris F.
