Donna J. Gipson, 83, Marion, daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Marks) Marley, passed away in her home at 7:41 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017. She was born in Marion on October 4, 1934, and married Charles L. Gipson on September 5, 1965. They had just celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his passing on September 14, 2015.
Donna attended Marion High School and had worked at the VA Medical Center and RCA before staying home and taking care of her family. She liked going to casinos, reading, and playing Euchre and Bingo. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Traci) Overman, Marion, and Steve (Sara) Overman, Marion; step-daughter, Lavonda Gipson, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and brother, Jerry (Chris) Marley, Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, David Overman; brother, Buddy Marley; and in-laws, Arley (Chris) Gipson, Doris (Novel) Reed, and Vance (Corrine) Sellers.
Family and friends may call from 2-5 p.m. with Donna’s funeral service beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating.
A committal service will take place at Grant Memorial Park Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017.
