Donald E. Willoughby, 81, North Manchester, IN died at 7:20 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 in  Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN.  He was born April 6, 1935 in Harrisburg, PA to William A. & Lilian (Falkenstein) Willoughby.  He graduated from Bridgewater (VA) High School in 1953; Elizabethtown College in 1960 & Bethany Theological Seminary, Oak Brook, IL in 1964. He was licensed to the ministry in spring of 1953 and ordained in April 1964. On August 22, 1958 he married Marie A. Hoover in Vienna, Austria.  Don served in pastoral ministry at Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, Lowpoint, IL Crab Run and Damascus Churches of the Brethren, the Antioch Church of the Brethren in Virginia and the Marilla and Lakeview Churches of the Brethren in Michigan.  He held positions in the local church and for the district and national Church of the Brethren.  He was interested in wildflowers and rocks, keeping in touch with family, traveling and reading.  He was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, IN where he attended Koinonia Sunday School class.  He is survived by his wife, Marie Willoughby, North Manchester, IN; sons, Michael (Beth) Willoughby, Elk River, MN and John (Joanna) Willoughby, Grand Rapids, MI; daughters, Anne (Don) Petry, Glen Carbon, IL, Sallie Willoughby, San Leandro, CA, Carolyn (Barron) Willoughby Deffenbaugh, Johnstown, PA and Brenda Willoughby, Castro Valley, CA; brother, David (Barbara Maris) Willoughby, Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Jason Petry, Jordan (Maggie) Petry, Melia Willoughby, Rohan Willoughby, Emilie Deffenbaugh, Drew Deffenbaugh, Aaron Deffenbaugh, Zander Willoughby, Zoe Willoughby, Vienna Willoughby and Shiloh Willoughby and great grandchild, Sam Petry.  Family and friends may call Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN.  Memorial service Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, IN.  Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate.  Memorial service and burial of ashes at Worship Walkway of the Marilla Church of the Brethren, rural Copemish, MI at a later date.  For those who wish to honor the memory of Donald Willioughby, memorial contributions may be made to Marilla Church of the Brethren General Fund, 7555 Lenz Road, Kaleva, MI 49645 or Manchester Church of the Brethren General Fund, PO Box 349, North Manchester, IN 46962 or Mission and Ministry Board General Fund, 1451 Dundee Ave., Elgin, IL 60120.
