Don R. Fansler

Don R. Fansler, 78, passed away in his home on February 15, 2018. He was born in Wabash to the late John D. and Virginia A (Waggoner) Fansler on January 19, 1940.

Don graduated from Van Buren High School in 1958. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1961-1962. On January 20, 1971 he married Rebecca Hawkins. Mrs. Fansler survives. Don was employed as a production worker with Butterworth Industries and retired in 2003. In his spare time, Don liked to grow greens and herbs in his garden. He also enjoyed racoon hunting. He loved spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren. Don also enjoyed watching Pacer’s and Indiana University basketball.

He is survived by his children, Cammi Fansler, Marion; Richard (Juanita) Fansler, Marion, Connie (Bob) Hulka, Russiaville; Jenni Camblin, Marion; brothers, Jerry Fansler, Marion; Toby (Pam) Fansler, Marion; Larry (Janet) Fansler, Gas City; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Don is also preceded in death by his son, Mark Fansler and his sister, Patsy Weaver.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 3-4:30 pm in First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 2353 West 14th Street, Marion, Indiana. Celebration of life service will begin at 4:30 pm immediately following visitation with Pastor Jay Shady officiating. Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana was entrusted with arrangements.
