Dollie Francis Eldridge, 88, New Palestine, died at 10:48 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016, at Pleasant View Lodge. She was born in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, to the late Albert and Annie (Tincher) Bailey. She married Ammel E. Eldridge on November 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2002.

Dollie was a graduate of Swayzee High School and a former member of New Hope Methodist. She enjoyed gardening and working crossword and word search puzzles. Her yard was always full of flowers, particularly irises and lilies. Dollie enjoyed traveling with her daughter and had many fond memories of playing in the casinos in Las Vegas. She was very involved with Cancer Services of Grant County, supporting the walks and fundraisers.

Survivors include her daughter, Margaret (Lanny) LeClaire, New Palestine; grandson, Christopher (Robin) LeClaire, Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Jacob LeClaire and Lydia LeClaire; brother, Harry (Janet) Bailey, Hartford City; and sisters, Ruth (Roy) Fultz, Marion, and Roberta (Daniel) Crouch, Marion.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dollie was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Allen Eldridge, sisters, Joan (Marvin) Moore, Geraldine Diefenderfer, Viola (Claude) Schwartz, and Juanita (Ray) Noller; and an infant sister, Mary.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity.

The family wishes to thank the Pleasant View Lodge staff and caregivers and Heartland Hospice staff for their extended care.
